Community Partners

United Way of Southeastern Idaho is interested in partnering with people and groups who share a vision of prosperity for all of SE Idaho.  If that is you or your group, please contact United Way at 232-1389 or uwsei@qwestoffice.net with your ideas.  For funding, United Way of Southeastern Idaho's cycle is:

 

  •  November -- funding applications available

  •  January -- completed funding applications due

  •  February -- applicant site visits

  •  March -- panel hearings on applications

  • April -- funding decision provided and first payments made

 

 

Funded Partners

 Every year, United Way of Southeastern Idaho supports programs at about 40 organizations throughout Southeastern Idaho -- effective programs that get results.  Below are outstanding partner agencies funded by UWSEI in the last complete year.  For details about funding levels, click on "News" to the left.



ABERDEEN FOOD BANK  
Provides nutrition to Bingham County residents who are unable to meet their food needs.

Provides two homeless facilities (emergency night/day shelters) 365 days a year, transitional housing, case management and financial management assistance. Self-sufficiency programs include affordable child care, payee services, case management, and life skill classes.

Provides 24 hour disaster relief, first aid, water safety, CPR training, aid to servicemen and a blood donor program for all citizens.

Bannock House is an emergency shelter that offers counseling and aftercare for runaway and homeless youth and their families. Outpatient counseling for at-risk youth and their families.
 
BINGHAM COUNTY SCHOOLS RAINY DAY FUND  
Provides critical need items to low-income children in Bingham County schools.

Domestic violence shelter and services for victims of domestic abuse.
 
BLACKFOOT COMMUNITY CENTER   208-785-8022
A multifaceted community center focused on empowering youth, families, and the community through educational and recreational classes and community events.
 
BLACKFOOT SENIOR CITIZENS CENTER
Nutrition, Meals on Wheels, activities, and other services for senior citizens.

5,196 youth and 2,806 volunteer leaders participate in the largest youth development program dedicated to character growth, citizenship training and mental/physical development.

Provides professional counseling and supportive services to children and families affected by child abuse as well as community outreach and training on the subject.
 
CAMP FIRE USA - GEM STATE COUNCIL   208-232-8819
For boys and girls ages 3-18. Provides coeducational clubs, sports, camp, teen service and after school programs.

Provides year round affordable outdoor recreational facilities for community groups, with emphasis on youth, handicapped and underprivileged in Southeast Idaho.
 
CASA--6TH JUDICIAL DISTRICT PROGRAM   208-232-2272
Recruits, trains and supervises community volunteers who are appointed by a judge to speak for the best interest of abused and neglected children in court.

Their mission is to practice works of charity, service and justice through the delivery of quality social services, advocacy of social justice, and collaboration with the organizations to solve social problems and build resilient communities. The Eastern region offices serves the 16 county area of Southeastern Idaho.

PHA seeks to expand youth opportunities by building an inline hockey/soccer facility in Chubbuck to foster athletic programs that provide health and physical fitness opportunities.

The Greater Pocatello Senior Center’s mission is to provide a nutritious, hot noon meal for seniors who are unable either physically or financially to provide for themselves.

To provide affordable, quality healthcare regardless of ability to pay. Health West serves the communities of Aberdeen, American Falls, Lava Hot Springs, Downey, Pocatello, and McCammon. People who would otherwise have had difficulty accessing medical care are able to receive that care in their own communities, regardless of their ability to pay.

Provides clothing, shoes, warm coats, eyeglasses and other unfunded needs for school children referred by teachers.

Through partnerships with the food industry and support from the local community, The Idaho Foodbank gathers and distributes food and groceries benefiting needy Idahoans.

Idaho Legal Aid Services (ILAS) is a nonprofit statewide organization dedicated to providing equal access to justice for low-income people through quality advocacy and education.

Provides homebound seniors nutritious, hot meals and a caring visit. Assists clients to retain and remain in their homes, preventing or delaying institutional care that, in most cases, is paid with Medicare/Medicaid dollars.
 
NORTH BINGHAM COUNTY FOODBANK
An all-volunteer foodbank providing a weekly basket of food to people living at the poverty level.

.The Oneida Crisis Center provides services to victims of domestic, dating and sexual violence, stalking, and child abuse.  It raises public awareness and education to the community.

Provides a warm, safe place every school afternoon from 3-5 p.m. for all high school students with adult supervision, tutoring, games, beverages and snacks.

Provide educational materials; emphasize and encourage reading; supplement the learning and educational needs for people of all ages, and furnish timely, accurate information.

Provides pre-tuned radios and special broadcasts to sight-impaired individuals.  Volunteers broadcast local, national and international news.

Provides opportunities to non-profit organizations to use the wisdom and expertise of senior volunteers 55 years and older to meet needs of the community.

SEICAA helps to alleviate the effects of poverty through programs such as commodity distribution, energy assistance, and gleaning.
